Sustainable Printing

Aussie logos your partner in print.
Aussie logos has been servicing the Australian and New Zealand new business startups and re-brands market since 2006. In that time we have become one of the the first and only printers in Australia to offer a completely sustainable printing service, using our 2 offset waterless presses that offer you faster turnaround times, more vibrant colours, improved and more consistent print quality, and little to no variation between print runs. So not only do we guarantee the best quality cards at the best price but we also are making sure that what we do is environmentally sound.

Environmental issues with standard printing

Traditionally, printing is a huge consumer of resources, including chemicals, water and energy. Many large presses can consume hundreds of thousands of litres of water per year as part of the normal printing process. Waterless printing takes advantage of modern technology to reduce these environmental impacts. Notably, it uses Computer to Plate (CtP) technology and silicon plates to eliminate chemicals and water altogether. Many waterless printers also use Direct Ink (DI) technology and vegetable-based inks exclusively to further reduce resource use, pollution and VOCs* emissions. Waterless presses are currently in the minority, although they are becoming more popular. Waterless presses are also praised for their high quality colour reproduction, and the reduced paper set-up waste for each job.

This guarantees that you will receive the most accurate colour, highest quality printed material and the fastest turnaround possible, while offering you, our clients, the most environmentally friendly and sustainable printing process available. Yet we still provide great quality, competitive prices and the fantastic service to which our clients are accustomed. Now you really can have the best quality offset print available and ‘do your bit’ for the environment.

Aside from business cards, we also print many other products, including stationery, calendars, flyers and more, printed on a variety of high quality stocks including:‘Business Class 420-standard for our Gold & Platinum package cards’,'Economy Class 310', 'Stationery Class 100’, '100% Recycled Class 100’, 'Flyer Class 150', Indoor and Outdoor Stickers, and Plastics.

The 2 Genius 52UV machines that we use.

The waterless printing process, together with the Genius 52UV’s short inking units, means that only a few start-up sheets (paper wastage) are needed – in contrast to conventional offset printing procedures. It does not matter if 80 gm paper or cardboard or plastic of 0.8 mm thickness is processed.

* VOC's or Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a high vapour pressure at ordinary, room-temperature conditions. Their high vapour pressure results from a low boiling point, which causes large numbers of molecules to evaporate or sublimate from the liquid or solid form of the compound and enter the surrounding air. An example is formaldehyde, with a boiling point of –19 °C (–2 °F), slowly exiting paint and getting into the air.

VOCs are numerous, varied, and ubiquitous. They include both human-made and naturally occurring chemical compounds. Most scents or odours are of VOCs. VOCs play an important role in communication between plants. [1] Some VOCs are dangerous to human health or cause harm to the environment. Anthropogenic VOCs are regulated by law, especially indoors, where concentrations are the highest. Harmful VOCs are typically not acutely toxic, but instead have compounding long-term health effects. Because the concentrations are usually low and the symptoms slow to develop, research into VOCs and their effects is difficult.
